Charlotte, NC – Bob Gilbertson, owner/driver of the Trick Tank Nitro Funny Car, has joined forces with Nashville Recording Artist, Brandon Hamilton, for his return to NHRA competition at the 8th Annual Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway in near-by Concord, N.C. on Sept. 18-20th.

Located in Nashville, Tennessee, country music artist Brandon Hamilton is no stranger to the NHRA. Not only has Brandon been a fan and spectator of the sport for over 17 years, he is also a licensed Super Comp driver. “There is nothing like the feeling of hitting the gas pedal in one of those machines.” In 2014, Brandon went on a nationwide tour visiting country radio stations and is currently writing with hit songwriters while working on new music, with his 4-song EP to be released early 2016.

“I’ve known and rooted Bob on for over 14 years and to be able to team up with him is a dream come true.” states Brandon. Unlike other sports, the NHRA always allows fans the unique opportunity to interact personally with each driver. “The NHRA is such a special sport and I’m always amazed with how great racers are to their fans and Bob is no different.”

“A long time ago we attended a drag race up north somewhere and here is this father with his young son standing at the ropes and all I can remember was seeing this kid with the biggest smile. You could see his joy from 1⁄4 mile away and from that day Brandon became my biggest fan!” recalls Bob. “All the years have passed and we find Brandon coming to be our guest this weekend at the NHRA Carolina Nationals and we are proud to fly Brandon’s logo at 300 miles per hour down the strip! Hopefully we can go some rounds on Sunday and Brandon will have that big smile I remember from a long time ago and maybe, just maybe, we can get Brandon to sing one of his songs!”
